About us
We are delighted to welcome you to Aloah & Co, a venture born out of our passion for sustainability, adventure, and ethical living. Allow us to introduce ourselves – we are Hannah and Dion, residents of the Bundjalung land, nestled within the enchanting Yugambeh region. Our little pup, 'Oakie,' is our faithful companion on this incredible journey.
Our mission is simple yet impactful – we're on a mission to revolutionize the way you experience comfort and coziness while being conscious of our planet's well-being. In a world where sustainability often takes a backseat, we're committed to crafting innovative, ergonomic blankets that offer an eco-friendly alternative to traditional sleeping bags or duvets with covers.
As a couple deeply enamored with sustainable travel and explorations across our magnificent country, we've embarked on this venture to make a positive difference. Aloah & Co was conceived with a purpose: to provide you, our like-minded clients, with products that not only enhance your comfort but also uphold our values of ethical sourcing and environmental stewardship.
Our blankets, the heart of Aloah & Co, are a testament to this commitment. Made from the finest linen, each blanket is a fusion of elegance and functionality. We understand the importance of adaptability in your adventures, and that's why our blankets come with a matching linen drawstring bag – a mark of portability and convenience. Whether it's rolled up in your swag, stowed away in a rooftop tent, or draped over your shoulders by the campfire, our blankets are designed to be your versatile companion.
Linen, with its timeless charm and remarkable versatility, has long captivated our admiration. It's not just about its aesthetic appeal; it's about its journey from nature to your adventure, and the positive impact it leaves along the way. Thin enough to be compact and lightweight for your travels, yet substantial enough to cocoon you in warmth on chilly nights – that's the essence of our quilts.
Join us on this extraordinary journey as we marry comfort with conscience, elegance with environmental responsibility. With every blanket, you become a part of our vision for a world where our actions, no matter how small, contribute to the preservation and betterment of our ecosystems.
Thank you for being a part of the Aloah & Co family – a family that celebrates sustainability, embraces adventure, and nurtures our planet for generations to come.
Warmly,
Hannah, Dion, and Oakie
Our ethics
Since the start of Aloah and co, we have made it a priority to lessen our reliance on single-use plastics and other sources of pollution wherever we go in order to preserve the natural beauty of our home.
At Aloah and Co, we only use packaging that is made from compostable materials. This includes not only thank you notes and shipping labels, but also mailers and labels for packages. Before we expanded, our mission was to make sure that we not only used the best possible fabric for our quilted blankets to ensure the warmth and durability of our products for as long as possible, but also that we minimised our potential negetive environmental impact as much as possible. Linen is used by Aloah and company because the flax plant not only takes in a large quantity of carbon but also has the ability to grow in bad soil and can act as a source of rehabilitation for soil that has been depleted. The use of linen, a material that is not only environmentally friendly but also classic and refined.
By using linen rather than cotton to make their blankets, Aloah and coare able to reduce their water consumption by tens of thousands of litres while simultaneously producing more long-lasting products. The European Confederation of Linen and Hemp reports that the manufacture of a shirt made from linen uses 6.4 litres of water, but the creation of a shirt made from cotton requires 2,700 litres of water.
Our innate desire to create a positive impact has always been at the core of Aloah & Co's ethos. Beyond crafting exceptional blankets, we're driven by the need to give back to our planet and its inhabitants. In this spirit, we're proud to share that with every blanket you purchase, we donate $2 to the Captain Paul Watson Foundation. This intentional contribution is our way of joining hands with a force that's actively engaged in safeguarding and rejuvenating our marine life and oceans.
By channeling a portion of each sale to the Captain Paul Watson Foundation, we aspire to play a role in enabling direct actions that counter the threats to our precious marine ecosystems. It's a small step with a profound impact, resonating with the heart of our mission – to be agents of change in preserving the aquatic wonders that inspire us.
But that's not all. Our commitment extends further through a dynamic partnership with the Eden Reforestation Project. For every item you purchase from our collections, including our cherished blankets, a tangible effort is made toward reforestation. Each purchase contributes to the planting of trees, symbolizing the growth of hope and vitality in areas that need it most. It's our way of tangibly reaffirming our dedication to nurturing the Earth, one tree at a time.
As Aloah & Co evolves and flourishes, so does our unwavering commitment to philanthropy. The more we grow, the more resources we can direct towards meaningful causes. We're resolute in our determination to amplify our impact, dedicating a higher percentage of our proceeds to charitable initiatives. This evolution isn't just about our growth; it's about the collective growth of compassion, responsibility, and change.
We extend our deepest gratitude to you, our cherished patrons, for being part of this journey. With every Aloah & Co purchase you make, you're contributing to the ripple effect of positive change. Your choice echoes in the preservation of marine life, the restoration of forests, and the betterment of our shared world.
Together, let's nurture a legacy of giving, protecting, and rejuvenating – a legacy that stands as a testament to our commitment to a brighter future
